Drop Berry Dew
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morning sun
illuminates drop berry dew
glowing
sparkling
light of day’s dawn
shining through you
Moment in time
caught in sheer glaze
dripping
dropping
tears of pure joy
welcoming new days
Mercy and grace
casting forth beams
loving
giving
strengthening with hope
fulfilling night’s dreams.
Every morning I wave to my husband as he rides, drives, or walks off to work. He appreciates that I give him the same sending off wave that his mom always gave his dad. On this particular day, he pointed out the drop berry dew hanging on the bush. He likes to help me out with potential photo shoots! Thank you, Ian. I appreciate and admire your desire to help me.
thats so sweet, the part about your Ian.
As my girlfriend would say about our husbands, “They’re keepers!” 😉
I’m so glad a nice person like you have such a nice husband as Ian! 🙂 Great pictures, Wendy!!
Thanks, Calee! We became good friends, first, before we realized we wanted to be life partners.
That drop just made my day…thanks!
🙂 Thank you!
It’s practically like a birth, it’s so beautiful how you captured it!
My cat bumped me while taking a shot of another one and it dropped before I could capture it… Always fill the cat bowl up before taking pictures! 😉
Ian is a good man.
I agree.
I love the poem about mercy and grace paired with those dew drops photos! Thanking God for your Ian, and how he understands and loves you! Thank you and God bless you, with more and more joy!
Have you ever heard how mercy and grace are two sides of the same coin? “Mercy is not getting what we deserve, and grace is getting what we don’t deserve.” I heard a professional football player say this once at church.
Those send-offs are important to my husband and me, too–the kids join me often and we wave at the window. Your husband’s photo tip to you seems indicative of the love you share–you each know what will bless the other, and you do it. Isn’t it amazing how “big” the “little things” can be? Regarding your poem and pictures, I was especially longing for that mercy and grace today, knowing I always need it, but truly feeling the need today. And there it is, ever ready to drop down onto us, washing us anew.
I agree that it is amazing how “big” the “little things” can be. I like how you worded that! The little things really do add up.
I’m NOT a good man…..I’m a blessed man.
Ian, you are good-willed and blessed! 😉
Go Ian for helping! Love your poetry!……Paula x
Thanks! Yesterday he offered to block the wind for me, as I was trying to photograph a birch branch.(It was moving too much…) And he did! I will eventually post that photo, too. It’s the small stuff that really adds up!
I love the dewdrop and raindrop photo ops more than almost every other kind – I love how water molecules stick together in so delicate a way! How fun that your Ian points things out for your camera’s benefit (and ours!)
I’m glad you mentioned that you like raindrops, too. I’m hooked on them. And you know what that means… Ian reminded me to bring my camera on our walk yesterday. Wow! How patient is that? I was going to give him a break from his photo crazed wife… and he insisted that I bring it. I just stopped twice for pictures. That is a record for least number of stops. Even my dog takes more stops than that. 😉
Blessings & happy picture taking ~ Wendy
I love this post, the combination of spiritual and romantic–and I, too, love the 2 sides of the coin, mercy and grace. God bless you–love, Caddo
I take sermon notes – otherwise I would not have remembered what that fellow had said… I’m glad you know about that quote. It is a comfort to remember that no one is good enough to earn grace or bad enough to disqualify for it. He begins with us right where we are at. A true conversion will bring about true change. We just need to come to him as we are.
I came back to add one more thought (2 cents worth)–we get out of bed each day because of His grace, we go to bed each night because of His mercy~~
Yes! I like that one, too…very true.That one is new to me.
