Wendy/2012

Mushrooms silently show up overnight at our .77 acre place.   I have been fascinated with them since childhood.  My grandmother seemed to have an art for knowing which ones were safe to eat.  She lived to be 90, her mother 99, and I am still alive – so I’d  say she got it right… ( They were delicious!!!)

I won’t eat any of our mushrooms. But I love to take pictures.  Enjoy!

PS – If you enjoy feasting on mushroom photos, be sure to visit the following link for dessert.  Macro mushrooms extraordinaire!

    1. With all the rain we are having, lately, I have another post of about six more different mushrooms coming up soon! They amaze me! God had fun creating an extensive variety…

  1. Wonderfully clever, Wendy–I’m so dull-brained, it took me a sec to realize you’d done an acrostic–I LOVE it!! And I enjoy mushrooms too!! God bless you, have a super weekend! love, Caddo

  2. A mushroom poem and mushroom pics? So amazing! I love them and your photos are so good! It reminds me that for awhile, my mom had a kitchen with a mushroom theme! 🙂 God bless you and all He brings to you . .. and you share with us!

    1. Thank you for sharing that. Sometimes I feel a little quirky about some of the photos I like to share – but this is me. 😉 I love the forest floor!

    1. I’ve never met a mushroom on my dinner plate that I did not like. 🙂 But I sure agree with you about being easily poisoned, as some unsafe ones look very similar to safe ones – too risky for me!

  3. What a wonderful verse and post! I love mushrooms, all kinds, looking at them in their natural environment, sketching and painting them, and of course eating them. yum, I really like the “fungi fun” verbiage, sort of sums it up! What a great post Wendy! I’ve stayed away too long from here, obviously! 🙂

    1. Hey, just come when you can, Penny. You have 5 times more followers than me – so you are a busy gal! Great idea to draw them. The kids and I draw together, often, during homeschool – thanks for the idea!

        1. My youngest son has surpassed my skill level. One day the older son said: “Hey Mama, he draws better than you now!” Well, I guess I picked out the right drawing lesson book… 😉 I keep him stocked with supplies to foster his talent.
