Mushrooms silently show up overnight at our .77 acre place. I have been fascinated with them since childhood. My grandmother seemed to have an art for knowing which ones were safe to eat. She lived to be 90, her mother 99, and I am still alive – so I’d say she got it right… ( They were delicious!!!)
I won’t eat any of our mushrooms. But I love to take pictures. Enjoy!

PS – If you enjoy feasting on mushroom photos, be sure to visit the following link for dessert. Macro mushrooms extraordinaire!

Thank you, Calee, for linking to my blog. It’s my turn to share yours. 🙂
There are so many different species – wow!! Even the world of fungi holds beauty and variety!
With all the rain we are having, lately, I have another post of about six more different mushrooms coming up soon! They amaze me! God had fun creating an extensive variety…

Wonderfully clever, Wendy–I’m so dull-brained, it took me a sec to realize you’d done an acrostic–I LOVE it!! And I enjoy mushrooms too!! God bless you, have a super weekend! love, Caddo
Thank you, Caddo! It is my first one on the blog and second one ever. You and other poets are having a creative influence on me. 🙂

A mushroom poem and mushroom pics? So amazing! I love them and your photos are so good! It reminds me that for awhile, my mom had a kitchen with a mushroom theme! 🙂 God bless you and all He brings to you . .. and you share with us!
I remember that era! Thanks for your visit, Debbie.

I love mushrooms (to eat), but I never really saw any beauty in them until I saw your photos. Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing that. Sometimes I feel a little quirky about some of the photos I like to share – but this is me. 😉 I love the forest floor!
Blessings ~ Wendy
Thanks for the link Wendy! I love your mushroom pictures, what a great variety you’ve found as well!!
While I was planting my garlic, today, I noticed more mushrooms under the trees. They sure love damp & dark places. Thanks for the visit!

I could easily be poisoned because i love all mushrooms! *laughing* beautiful pictures! x
I’ve never met a mushroom on my dinner plate that I did not like. 🙂 But I sure agree with you about being easily poisoned, as some unsafe ones look very similar to safe ones – too risky for me!

What a wonderful verse and post! I love mushrooms, all kinds, looking at them in their natural environment, sketching and painting them, and of course eating them. yum, I really like the “fungi fun” verbiage, sort of sums it up! What a great post Wendy! I’ve stayed away too long from here, obviously! 🙂
Hey, just come when you can, Penny. You have 5 times more followers than me – so you are a busy gal! Great idea to draw them. The kids and I draw together, often, during homeschool – thanks for the idea!

Mushrooms are a great subject to sketch, a nice way to introduce textures and shades. My pleasure Wendy.
My youngest son has surpassed my skill level. One day the older son said: “Hey Mama, he draws better than you now!” Well, I guess I picked out the right drawing lesson book… 😉 I keep him stocked with supplies to foster his talent.
Excellent, children are like plants, when their creativity is nourished it blooms wonderfully Wendy! Way to go!
Delightful magical mushrooms. Thanks for visiting my blog! Vera
You are most welcome! I loved the birds on the water – very beautiful! Thank you for your visit here. 🙂

These mushrooms are amazing! And so many!
The picture quality is superb. Thank you for the feast, Wendy!
Thank you! Many don’t turn out – but I love to share the ones that do…

I am not a big fan of eating mushrooms but your pictures of them are great! 🙂
Thank you! They are fun to photograph as they sit so still – very cooperative! 😉
