Drip Drop

Drip drop

Tic toc

Leaves fall in dismay

Winter isn’t far behind

As autumn leads the way

Drip drop

Tic toc

Naked branches shiver

as icicles and snowflakes

are shot from winter’s quiver

Drip drop

Tic toc

Snow melts away

Leaves unfurl gladly

On a lovely springtime day!

Spring is still my first love of the seasons…

But autumn has its own allure, too!

  1. Love the photos, Wendy. How did you achieve the main subject focused and the background blurry? I’m learning about depth of field in my course at the moment, but I cant quite get the practice sessions right. Any tips??

    1. Thank you, Lizzie! I set my camera on Macro and then I take several photos while trying to keep as still as possible. Most of mine don’t turn out, but I love closeups and so I stubbornly keep trying. I seem to have more success if it is bright out.

  2. Spring is so special to me too, Wendy! But I love your fall photos and poems! Your poems are lyrical and flow so beautifully. Thank you for sharing your gifts and insights with us, blessing us! God bless you!!

  3. Such beautiful photos and verse, Wendy! I’m wondering if you’re in danger, as I read reports of the quake off Vancouver’s coast? I’m praying, of course–but I’m also such a fretter! My blog family members are all so dear to me! God bless you–love, sis Caddo

    1. Thank you, Caddo! We are safe and sound. Our household is so noisy and busy that we didn’t even notice the earthquake! Our pastor lives a few blocks away and their light fixtures were swinging back and forth. I think I may have noticed an aftershock while I was outside, as the tree branches started rattling and pouring off the gathered rain. I didn’t know there had been a quake so I was startled and thought it was a raccoon… The kids and I prayed for safety for people in the path of the hurricane, this morning. I sure feel for them. I have become fond of the blogger family, too, like you – sis!
