Treasures of Town

Trees are truly the treasures of a town.  These trees are in downtown Courtenay. My mother is an artist whose paintings of trees indoctrinated me from childhood. I learned to treasure these giants of the garden. Not because my mother said anything: The paintings spoke. Older neighborhoods’ best features tend to be their ancient trees. We are blessed to have such a home. Some mornings I can sit in bed with a hot coffee and watch, through our second floor window, as the old firs wave their branches to the rhythm of the wind.

Our kitchen may not be modern; but, I’ d rather have an old character house with beautiful old trees to match.

Thank you, Lord, for creating such beauty that pleases both my eyes and my soul.

“You make everything glorious!”

Beautiful Blessings ~ Wendy

  1. I so love how your mother’s paintings ‘spoke’. Her art must be powerful… I love trees, too – they are indeed the glory of a place. New suburbs just don’t do it for me! 🙂

      1. The shots where I’m looking up the length/height of the tree made me almost grab my desk–that must be proof of a powerfully good photo, if I feel like I’m “there” (with a bit of vertigo)!

  2. This was so beautiful, Wendy. There is something so special about trees, and you captured it in your pics and words. They seem to always be praising God, to me. 🙂 God bless you and all you discover to share with us!
