Comox Avenue

On one of our dates, we walked along Comox Avenue to take pictures. The Comox Glacier is visible from downtown.

We only live a 7 minute drive from here.

Even the drive is scenic, as it takes us along a rural road.

I will include those photos in a future post.

Comox is a quiet town that attracts tourists and retired folk.

With our gray hair and cameras – we fit right in!

The town landscaping is very nicely done.

Deer roam through town, but I saw very little damage from them.

Although a local school recently had a lock down, due to a cougar sighting.

I guess that is what happens when you are too cozy with cougar food.

The deer don’t like me anymore since I chased them out of my garden with a broom.

Their way into our place has been blocked off, now.

Yet, I know they could jump the driveway gate if they were really hungry…

I’ve chased a neighbor’s pot belly pig at our old place.

Right now, I am really annoyed at the raccoons…

It appears that our place is marvelous for worm digging.

Perhaps I could ask my night owl son to scare them off?

Meantime, I really wonder how these flowers survive the prolific deer presence?

Perhaps it is the name, Comox, which means “Place of  Plenty”?  There does seem to be plenty of wildlife and flowers here.

PS – I admit that the deer and raccoons are lovely to look at… as long as they are on the outside of my gate.  Yesterday I saw a handsome 4 or 5 point buck in someone else’s front garden, as I drove by.  He looks mighty fine in someone else’s flowers!

    1. Agreed. You are too funny! I’d say that you are a 12 point buck. A 10 that can cook and make me laugh too…

    1. Your dad reminds me of my mom. She feeds the deer by placing stuff just outside her fence. She lives on a small island that has no predators. I’ve never seen such relaxed looking deer!

  1. These pictures are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing Comox with us! I laughed at the deer looking better to you, in someone else’s garden. 🙂 During winter, in the middle of the night, we’ve looked out and seen deer walking through our neighborhood, nibbling on bushes. Like a smorgasboard! God bless you!

    1. Thank you, Debbie. My neighbor enjoys watching them finish off apples left under her apple trees. I’ll bet the raccoons drop them down for the deer! 😉
